Our task was to choose a topic of interest and find a website we thought gave us relevant information. My group chose to research Japan and the various different tourist attractions available to see there. No one in my group had ever visited Japan but has always been one of the countries that interested me most. We typed 'Japanese tourist attractions' into the Google search engine and the site above was one of the first available. The site was chosen because it looked professional, photographic and appealing to the eye. The site offered a range of different pages relating to Japan, including Japanese phrases for ordering in a restaurant to booking a hotel room. The site gave some background knowledge of Japan and described in depth a range of tourist attractions to visit all over Japan.
I will, however, say that the site was lacking a search engine within the site itself. It was able to search Google but not internally. The site also seemed to advertise to the more sophisticated travellers and appeared to show only the more luxurious accommodations, potentially putting off some possible travellers.
We checked the site on 'easywhois' which showed us that it was reliable. It told us that it had recently been updated and that sites connected to it was related to this one, therefore making the site a well-deserved 7/10.
