Blogging is an effective way of reflective learning as it enables you to look back at what you've done and show you the areas which need improving. It allows you to see your strengths and weaknesses and indicates how you can change them in order to improve. My university blog will keep a record of everything I have learnt throughout my university experience and will enable me to keep track of my progress. Blogging through assignments and work placements will give me the chance to prepare and even remind myself of my experience.
Another way of reflective learning that I do already is talk about a lesson with my peers. This helps remind me about what we've just learnt, discuss whether we thought it was a good or a bad lesson and whether we had learnt anything new. Initially, I didn't think blogging each week would help me achieve anything but now, after reading the two articles about it, I can see that it will be an effective way to know what areas I need to improve in.

Our task was to choose a topic of interest and find a website we thought gave us relevant information. My group chose to research Japan and the various different tourist attractions available to see there. No one in my group had ever visited Japan but has always been one of the countries that interested me most. We typed 'Japanese tourist attractions' into the Google search engine and the site above was one of the first available. The site was chosen because it looked professional, photographic and appealing to the eye. The site offered a range of different pages relating to Japan, including Japanese phrases for ordering in a restaurant to booking a hotel room. The site gave some background knowledge of Japan and described in depth a range of tourist attractions to visit all over Japan.
I will, however, say that the site was lacking a search engine within the site itself. It was able to search Google but not internally. The site also seemed to advertise to the more sophisticated travellers and appeared to show only the more luxurious accommodations, potentially putting off some possible travellers.
We checked the site on 'easywhois' which showed us that it was reliable. It told us that it had recently been updated and that sites connected to it was related to this one, therefore making the site a well-deserved 7/10.

My First Blog
My name is Sam. I'm nineteen years old and have lived in Swansea all my life. I currently live at home with my parents and my little dog, Lucky and have a boyfriend called Seb who studies accounting at Cardiff University. I decided to stay in Swansea to do an Education degree at university and hope to complete a PGCE at the end of my three years. I have three nephews and one niece whom I love to pieces! Being an auntie since I was three has sparked an interest in children and have always aspired to be a primary teacher. I would love to have a positive influence on young children and would love for children to enjoy coming to school and like being in my lesson.
I would LOVE to move away to America for a few years, hopefully to teach for a couple of years. I'd like to have experience in different environments and get out of my comfort zone so i'd feel more comfortable in a variety of different situations. Hopefully i'll be able to do this before coming back home and settling in a long-term job here.
